The interaction between both Hyaluronic Acid (HA) and Tamarind Seed Polysaccharide (TSP) is synergistic, resulting in a single bi-polymer unique to HydraMed.
Hydration properties
HA is a viscoelastic polysaccharide found naturally in the human body, including the eye. Good quality, high molecular weight HA has exceptional water-binding properties that can hold 3000x its own weight in water.
Stabilising properties
TSP is a naturally occurring, viscoelastic polymer with a chemical structure similar to ocular surface-active mucin.2
The excellent mucoadhesive properties of TSP may help stabilise the tear film, improve the condition of the ocular surface and support the post-contact lens tear layer.
